At one point, Gurcharan Gill's heart was so weak, he could barely lift a newspaper. After receiving the same heart pump recently implanted in former vice president Dick Cheney, Mr. Gill is back to living an active life and planning a vacation to his native India. Dr. Stephen Bailey, director of cardiac surgery at AGH, said the unique pump has dramatically  improved the treatment of congestive heart failure.
