Our Services
Part of the Gerald McGinnis Cardiovascular Institute, the Women's Heart Center provides women with an overall assessment of their cardiovascular health. Specialists from the program use the latest technology and tools to give women a comprehensive, gender-specific action plan for preventing and treating heart disease.
Services provided include:
- Overall assessment of cardiovascular risk through a physical, lab work, and noninvasive testing
- Treatment tailored to individual risk assessment
- Dietary counseling
- Physical activity prescription
- Mental stress reduction
- Pittsburgh's leading cardiologists and specialists are available when more invasive testing and treatment are needed.
The facility offers the latest in imaging capabilities like open bore MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, x-ray, digital mammography, bone densitometry and nuclear medicine. The Women's Heart Center also collaborates with specialists such as endocrinology, psychiatry, vascular medicine, rheumatology, and dermatology.
